Accepted Advertising Overview
  •  Traditional images: *.jpg or *.gif. See size and weight chart below for accepted standards.
  •  3rd Party Tags: iFrame/Javascript (iLayer/Layer tags are not accepted due to cross-browser compatibility and stability issues)
  •  Rich Media: Many formats accepted, see guidelines for more information. All rich media technologies require prior approval and testing prior to implementation.
  •  No ad unit can prompt the download of a plug-in.
  •  Newsletter creative must be static image. Rich media, 3rd party tags and html are not accepted.

HTML Specifications
  •  HTML code cannot exceed 10kb
  •  3 images maximum, total file size of images cannot exceed 40kb
  •  Client-side image maps must be provided by the client
  •  Form tags in HTML code must use “get” in the method
  •  CGI scripts used in the HTML must be active at time of ad submission for testing or may subject to campaign launch delay


Macromedia Flash – Shockwave Flash Creative
  •  Our sites accept Flash versions 5 or higher
  •  Firefox compatibility is subject to testing
  •  30kb download and up to 4 additional streams upon user click are permitted
  •  Frame rates may not exceed 18 fps or may cause unacceptable browser lag
  •  Backup .jpg or .gif images are required
  •  Use of Shared Objects is not permitted
  •  Accessing user’s microphones or webcam is not permitted
  •  Flash ads must be submitted as complete .swf files with a click-tag already in place. Ads will not be accepted in any other format. .fla’s are not accepted. No flash ads will be resized, changes must be done locally/designer-side
  •  Click-thru tag instructions for tracking click-thru URLs:
     
Flash version 6+ (case sensitive):

The variable name must be spelled "clickTag" (case sensitive depending on flash version; no spaces). The click tag ‘button’ layer should remain the top layer on all flash files. It is not the responsibility of CBS if there is a delay caused by direct coding of URLs into .swf files that are served by CBS.


Rich Media Vendors
Rich Media vendors include EyeBlaster, Pointroll, DART Motif, Shoshkele and Klipmart. All rich media units require prior approval and testing (5 days from receipt of creative). Full page takeovers, interstitals and pop-ups are currently not acceptable. Flash video in-banner ads are only accepted for 160x600 or 728x90 positions as 300x250 positions are already served on pages with a Flash video player.
