Jasmine Kripalani

E-mail Jasmine Kripalani
Jasmine Kripalani is a weekend producer for CBS4.com.

Prior to joining CBS4, she worked as a reporter for The Miami Herald covering local politics, crime and occasional features for print and online.

She was part of The Miami Herald's Pulitzer Prize-winning team for its breaking news coverage of Cuban boy Elian Gonzalez who was seized by federal agents and returned to his father in April, 1999.

Jasmine is familiar with the only-in-South-Florida story lines that make this community such a news-rich environment. One such story Jasmine uncovered featured a greens keeper, who worked for an exclusive golf club in Weston, and, who, it was later discovered, had been robbing banks in Scottsdale, Ariz. on his days off.

Jasmine worked as an intern for various newspapers including the Commercial (Memphis) Appeal, Contra Costa Times in California's Bay Area, St. Paul Pioneer Press and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram. Her work has also appeared in The Washington Post. She spent a year studying French at the Sorbonne in Paris where she covered Yasser Arafat's death and other international stories on a freelance basis.

She joined CBS4 News in August of 2008, and has moved around the newsroom from night editor on the news assignment desk to producer for the CBS4 I-Team and now as weekend web producer.

When she's not working, Jasmine enjoys spending time with her daughter, reading, singing karaoke and learning new languages. She's fluent in Spanish and French.
