Dr. Sean Kenniff is the Health Specialist for CBS4/My33, a position he has held since December 2001.

While the CBS television program "Survivor" may have gained him fame, Doctor Kenniff's résumé reflects his experience and expertise as a dedicated medical professional. He attended college at Binghamton University in upstate New York, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology, and subsequently studied at New York Medical College. During his training, he interned in inner city hospitals and received several clinical honors for his compassion and initiative. After graduating in 1995, he went on to finish his neurology training at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Long Island Jewish Medical Center campus. He served as Chief Resident in 1999, and received numerous commendations for his teaching ability and dedication to patient care. After a brief stint in private practice, Dr. Sean opted to use his medical training to pursue a career as a television medical correspondent.

In the meantime, Dr. Kenniff was chosen as one of the original "Castaways" on the CBS hit show "Survivor," where he distinguished himself with ingenuity and humor, managing to hang on as one of the final contestants. While he enjoyed all his time spent on Pulau Tiga (36 days), he says his most memorable moment came from an intimate and unexpected visit from his father aboard a luxury yacht. Following his stint on "Survivor," Dr. Kenniff made a successful transition to television. He's been seen nationally as a health and fitness correspondent for "Extra," a health and fitness contributor to "Live! With Regis," and a correspondent for "The CBS Early Show." He's also a syndicated radio columnist for Winstar Radio, broadcasting his "Survivor Minute" to over 200 radio stations nationwide. Dr. Kenniff also made a foray into acting via appearances on "Guiding Light" and "Nash Bridges" as well as the film "The Manhattan Dating Project" from Rebellion Films. He contributes a weekly health column to the Miami Herald.

Dr. Kenniff is the national spokesman for the Four Foundation, a not-for-profit brain tumor research organization that supports the efforts of Columbia University, Presbyterian Hospital. He remains active in several AIDS, breast cancer, kidney foundation and Alzheimer's Disease charities, raising awareness by sharing his experiences as a physician. He's currently producing a series of health books and home videos entitled "Dr. Sean's Survival Series" and he plans to donate proceeds from these projects to a wide variety of medical charities. Since coming to South Florida in 2001, Dr. Sean has received numerous awards including Health Reporter for the Year (2004) for the Miami-Dade Health Department.
