Erika von Tiehl anchors CBS4's 5:30pm newscast with Eliott Rodriguez, as well as CBS4 News at 10pm on My 33 with Jawan Strader. She came to CBS4 in October of 2007 from WKBW/ABC 7 in Buffalo, NY where she anchored the morning and noon shows.

In addition to anchoring 2 shows a day, Erika also brings viewers environmental conservation news with her "Eco Zone" reports. These stories highlight the ways people in South Florida are "going green." Erika also works with The Children's Trust in Miami. Every month, she interviews a child hoping to be adopted and introduces them to our viewers.

Since joining CBS4, Erika has been live on the set for several breaking news stories including the landing of flight 1549 on the Hudson River. In addition, Erika has reported on the multiple police officer shootings in the Fall of 2007, and the 2008 hurricane season.

While in Buffalo, Erika covered the October storm of 2006 that shut down the city and left more than 400,000 people without power. It's been called "one of the most devastating snow storms in US history." Erika also reported on the 5 month long search for escaped murderer Ralph "Bucky" Philips; he made the FBI's 10 Most Wanted Fugitive list for shooting 3 state troopers while hiding out, killing one of them. She also developed several lifestyle segments for the morning show, including a "Dancing with the Stars" competition and weekly spot with the #1 radio morning team.

Erika got her start in news at KIEM-TV in Eureka, CA as a "one man band" reporter. One of her favorite memories from her time in Northern California was getting to serve as a guest judge for Arcata's Annual Oyster Festival.

Erika graduated Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles with a B.A. in Communications Studies. She grew up in Pasadena, CA and still watches the Rose Parade every New Year's Day.
