Jim Berry moved to mornings in June 2008 as the morning anchor of "CBS4 This Morning" from 5 – 7 AM weekdays, and the co-host of "Jim & Jade in the Morning" from 7 – 9 AM. Previously, he had been CBS4's Sports Director since August 1996.

Before joining CBS4, Berry was a weeknight sportscaster at WBBM-TV, the CBS owned and operated station in Chicago. Jim's tenure in Miami began at WSVN-TV , where he served as Sports Director for six years. 

His broadcasting career began in news. At WBTV in Charlotte, N.C., where Jim progressed from reporter trainee to weekend anchor. He then joined WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C. as its weekend news anchor before turning to sports.

Jim has won five Emmys for news and sports reporting.  His most recent was for a 2004 jingle entitled "The Heat Is Back On," which celebrated the Miami Heat reaching the playoffs. Jim previously anchored weeknight sportscasts at 6 & 11p.m. on CBS4, and 10:00p.m. sportscasts on My33. Jim also hosted "Jim Berry's Sports Rap," the station's Sunday night sports show, at 11:35 PM. During the NFL season, Jim also anchors CBS4's Miami Dolphins coverage as the host of the Miami Dolphin pre-game show named "Crunch Time."

In 2006, Jim became the recipient of the Silver Circle of Excellence Award for a distinguished career in journalism from the Suncoast Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.  He was also proud to receive the Pillar Award for service to the community from Miami-Dade County.

A native of Chicago, Jim is a graduate of Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

In addition to his professional pursuits, Jim has been involved with many charities, including the Greater Miami Tennis Foundation. His ACES program aims to provide college tennis scholarships to minorities.

Jim is married with two children.
