Fort Lauderdale Chlorinates Drinking Water

Water Continues To Be Safe To Drink

FORT LAUDERDALE (CBS4) ― Fort Lauderdale will temporarily run free chlorine through its drinking water system beginning at 11 p.m. Saturday through May 23rd.

The chlorination system flowing through the system could cause a slight change in taste or smell of tap water. The water will continue to be safe to drink.

The procedure will affect Fort Lauderdale residents as well as Lauderdale-By-The-Sea, Oakland Park, Port Everglades Authority, Sea Ranch Lakes, Wilton Manors and parts of Davie and Tamarac.

Customers who receive a water bill from the City of Fort Lauderdale should call the 24-Hour Customer Service Center at 954-828-8000 for more information.
