Miami Beach Offers Free Wi-Fi To Residents
MIAMI BEACH (CBS4) ―
After much debate, Miami Beach is finally flipping on the Wi-Fi switch.
On Friday, the city became one of the first in South Florida to offer its residents free Internet connection.
"WiFi Miami Beach will make our city safer, our government more efficient, and provide free Internet access to our residents and visitors," said Miami Beach City Manager Jorge M. Gonzalez.
City officials were expected to celebrate the service with a ceremonial "wire cutting" at 3 p.m. Friday in front of City Hall on Convention Center Drive and 17th Street.
There is a bilingual, 24/7 help hotline available for users which is 305-722-1917.
