Cheap Eats With Irish Fare & Bargain Burgers
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Miami may be famous for its Cuban cuisine but did you know you can also get a taste o' the Irish as well and it won't empty your wallet.
Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub is located just off the Miami River. The location, the company's fifth, opened in September with 22 TV's, a full bar and traditional pub food. It's fast becoming a hot spot for a wide range of customers.
"We really wanted to bring some waterfront dining to Miami. We think Miami lacks it a little bit," said manager Adrian Majara.
From the food and drink to the relaxed décor, this Irish pub is no imposter. The whole bar was built in Ireland and brought over piece by piece.
"We try to maintain authenticity in everything we do," said Majara.
So what about the food? It's all about the "lightning lunch" specials. Everything on the menu is $9.99 and there's a wide variety of items to choose from.
"We have shrimp and avocado, 2 fresh fish daily, we have traditional fare like bangers and mash, corn beef and cabbage and Shepherd's Pie."
This tasty trip to the Emerald Isle is open 7-days a week.
From river front Irish fare to ocean front elegance,
Steak 954 is a luxury boutique steakhouse located in the W hotel in Ft. Lauderdale.
"We take steak and make it sexy," said head chef Jason Smith.
But how can a sexy, elegant steakhouse also be a cheap eats location?
Say hello to the "954 Burger". For $9.54, you'll get an 8-ounce grilled seared with caramelized onions and aged cheddar cheese.
Smith says, "We started out as a $16.00 burger but that wasn't working so we wanted to be more approachable."
Other offerings will cost more like a melt in your mouth Miso glazed black cod but it's the burger that's a cheap eat in disguise.
Steak 954 is open 7-days a week including brunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
