Pain At The Pump As Gas Prices Rise

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Average regional Southeast prices rose by more than 14-cents over the past week, according to AAA Auto Club South's daily fuel report. The average price of a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline in the state hit a record $3.22, up from $3.08 a week ago.

Last week's new record prices were caused by high wholesale barrel of oil which spiked over $100, along with reduced U.S. refinery output and anticipation of the seasonal switch over to spring blends from current cold weather formulations.

The most expensive gasoline in the state was reported in the West Palm Beach- Boca Raton area, where drivers were paying nearly $3.30, according to data from AAA Auto Club South and the Oil Price Information Service.
