Easy Office-To-Party Fashion Tips For The Holidays

AVENTURA (CBS4) ― With the holiday season in full swing, many of us want to know how to go from the office to a party without spending lots of money or time.

Kathy Koop, InStylist for Terra.com, says there are ways to transform office clothes into cool outfits and finding the perfect look doesn't mean spending big bucks.

Koop, who has dressed stars like Shakira and Alicia Keys, met with CBS4's Lisa Petrillo at Macy's in Aventura Mall to show her some easy fashion tips.

First tip: "Go to the office in a basic trouser with a shiny top and a blazer. In the evening, remove the blazer, add nice accessories, like a clutch or pretty sandals and you're ready to go," explained Kopp.

Model Maylene showed off a classic black blazer, with grey slacks with a hint of hot pink peaking through for office attire.

"She's wearing one of the hottest trends of the season, hot pink," said Kopp.

The blazer comes off to reveal a sexy halter top. When Kopp adds a sparkling necklace, gunmetal patent leather shoes and clutch, she's party ready.

"It's just that simple. The shoes, the bag, and the necklace, she's had the shirt on all day," added Kopp.

Another big look this season is florals.

"It's very business but it has two big trends for the season, a floral dress and a sweater", said Kopp. When you change the shoes, add a clutch and a trendy necklace, "She's ready to go to the dinner party and dancing."

Look number three incorporates the hottest look for the season, a pencil skirt.

For the office, it's paired with an oversized cardigan. For the evening, the cardigan comes off and is replaced with trendy sexy satin shoes with a bow and a great necklace and bag.

Kopp says definitely add the sparkle for holiday parties but don't go overboard.

"Wear it just a little bit. You don't want to look like a Christmas ball. You don't want to look like a Christmas tree," warned Kopp.

If there's one thing you want to think about this season it's all about accessorizing.
