Fish Dip Recalled Over Listeria Concern
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
A Florida company is recalling one of its fish dip products which may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.
The recall involves Atlantis Brand Smoked Fish Dip by Neco Foods of Lantana. The dip, which is sold in several size containers, is available at a number of supermarkets and club stores throughout the state.
The affected packages are:
7 ounce size
UPC 0 3469611124 5 with an expiration date of April 23, 2009
Sold through retail stores
32 ounce size
UPC 0 3469611134 4 with an expiration date of April 23, 2009
Sold through club stores
5 pound size
No UPC code with an expiration date of April 23, 2009
Sold to foodservice distributors, not for retail sale
Neco Foods reports no illnesses associated with the fish dip have been reported. The recalled packages should be returned to the store of purchase for a refund.

Listeria monocytogenes is can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people and others with weakened immune systems.
