State Recalls Cheese Over E.Coli Concern
The Affected White Cheese Has 565 and 589 On Packaging
TALLAHASSEE, FL (CBS4) ―
You may want to check your refrigerator for some bad cheese.
Florida's Department of Agriculture has issued a recall for Santa Rosa Cheese's Naturally Aged White Cheese which tests showed was contaminated with E.coli bacteria.
Samples of the cheese, collected from the manufacturer's Miami warehouse, showed a generic E.coli strain present: not the more dangerous and sometimes deadly E. coli O157:H7 strain.
The affected codes for Naturally Aged White Cheese are 565 and 589 in various package sizes.
Stores with the contaminated cheese on their shelves are being urged to return it to the manufacturer, Santa Rosa Cheese, 4795 NW 72nd Ave., Miami, FL 33166. Consumers who may have it in fridge are urged to return it to the store where they bought it.
