Three years ago, Rev. Gerard Jean-Juste battled leukemia but had made a full recovery. He was contemplating a return to Haiti but on March 8 was admitted into Jackson Memorial Hospital complaining of trouble breathing. Two weeks ago, the Catholic priest and tireless activist for the Haitian people suffered a massive stroke and ultimately died Wednesday evening.
Last month's shooting on the MacArthur Causeway in which an alleged
carjacker was shot to death involved more than just a pair of on-duty
Miami Beach police officers, it also included a retired cop and a
civilian employee of the Miami Beach Police Department, the CBS4 I-Team
has learned.
