CBS4's Jim DeFede Returns To Radio Monday

Jim DeFede Show To Air On WFTL 850AM 4-7PM Weekdays

DeFede Will Continue To Be Seen On CBS4 & CBS4.COM

DORAL (CBS4.com) ― CBS4 Commentator and I-Team investigator Jim DeFede will soon be splitting his time once again between television and radio as he prepares to return to the radio airwaves on Monday.

This time, however, the new "Jim DeFede Show" will air on WFTL, 850AM weekdays from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.

DeFede can also be seen on CBS4 News on both the morning and evening newscasts and his television reports can also be found on CBS4.COM/Defede.

Prior to WFTL, DeFede hosted a morning show on WINZ. Since his departure from that station, DeFede has been working hard at CBS4 and has hired a personal trainer to get in shape and get healthy. His efforts are definitely working and he's already dropped 98 pounds.

DeFede's new radio show on WFTL is sandwiched between two very conservative talk show hosts and he describes himself as an "island of sanity in a sea of unreason."

DeFede also says he's really looking forward to getting back on the air. "I love being back on radio. There's never any shortage of things to talk about in South Florida. This place is a target rich environment," DeFede told CBS4.COM.

DeFede was an award-winning writer for the Miami New Times for 11 years, a metro columnist for the Miami Herald for three years and currently writes for Miami Monthly Magazine. He was also named "Best AM Radio Personality" for 2007 by New Times Broward-Palm Beach.

He's also written for large national and international news organizations, like The New Republic, Newsday, Mother Jones, and The (London) Independent. His first book, "The Day The World Came To Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland," was published in 2002 by HarperCollins and was recognized with a 2003 Christopher Award for its ability to "affirm the highest values of the human spirit." Universal Studios has optioned the book for a major motion picture.
