Sunday Football Update

Vikings 38, Packers 26
Brett Favre tossed four touchdowns in his return to Lambeau Field as Minnesota (7-1) beat Green Bay (4-3) on the road. Favre, booed in his return, finished with 244 yards on 17 of 28 passing for the Vikings, who beat the Packers for the second straight time this season. Adrian Peterson, the league's top rusher with 5 yards per carry, finished with 97 yards and a touchdown. Aaron Rodgers had three touchdowns, but was pressured heavily by Green Bay's defense – he was sacked six times.

Ravens 30, Broncos 7
Denver came in with the league's top-ranked defense, but left Baltimore (4-3) with its first loss this season. Rookie Lardarius Webb had a 95-yard kickoff return, and Derrick Mason and Ray Rice also scored for the Ravens, who snapped a three-game losing streak. Denver (6-1) was outplayed in all facets. The Broncos had trouble on third down (3-for-13), turnovers (1 for a Baltimore score), and didn't run the ball well (66 yards to Baltimore's 125).

Bears 30, Browns 6
Jay Cutler threw for 225 yards, Matt Forte ran for 90 and a touchdown as Chicago (4-3) beat woeful Cleveland (1-7). Kicker Robbie Gould had three field goals for the Bears, who took a 45-10 beating at Cincinnati last week.  Charles Tillman added an interception return against the Browns, who pulled quarterback Derek Anderson for backup Brady Quinn with three minutes left. Quinn was replaced by Anderson in Week 3.

Cowboys 38, Seahawks 17
Tony Romo threw touchdowns to three different receivers as Dallas (5-2) beat Seattle at home. Romo had 256 yards on 21 of 36 passing with no interceptions, connecting with Miles Austin, Sam Hurd, and Roy Williams. Seattle's offensive line continued to struggle, and Dallas' d-line had four hits on quarterback Matt Hasselback. The Cowboys head to Philadelphia next week to face Philadelphia in an NFC East showdown.

Rams 17, Lions 10
Steven Jackson had a 25-yard touchdown run to lift St. Louis (1-7), which snapped its 17-game losing streak by beating Detroit on Sunday. Daniel Fells had the other touchdown for the Rams, who avoided matching their worst start in franchise history. Lions' quarterback Matt Stafford, back after missing two games from an injured right knee, finished with 168 yards and an interception. He also had a rushing touchdown.

Colts 18, 49ers 14
Tailback Joseph Addai threw the game winning touchdown for Indianapolis, which won its 16th straight regular season game against San Francisco (3-4). The Colts (7-0) had trouble in the red zone (0-for-4) despite a strong performance from quarterback Peyton Manning, who had 347 yards on 31 of 48 passing. Alex Smith, making his first start this season for the 49ers, finished with 198 yards, a touchdown and an interception. His favorite target: receiver Michael Crabtree, who was playing his second game after a 17-month contract holdout.

Eagles 40, Giants 17
Donovan McNabb tossed three touchdowns for Philadelphia (5-2), which sent New York (5-3) to its third straight loss. DeSean Jackson, Brent Celek, and Jeremy Maclin each had touchdown catches for the Eagles, who remained undefeated in the NFC East division. Eli Manning continuously threw high over his receivers or was the victim of bad route running and threw two interceptions. He finished with 222 yards. Philadelphia was successful with running back Brian Westbrook, who missed the game because of a concussion he suffered last week. Backup Lesean McCoy had a 66-yard touchdown run in his place.

Titans 30, Jaguars 13
Vince Young got Tennessee (1-6) its first win, throwing for 228 yards and two touchdowns against Jacksonville (3-4). Chris Johnson set a franchise record by rushing for 228 yards, also running in two touchdowns for the Titans, who benched Kerry Collins to pave the way for Young. Maurice Jones-Drew provided the lone highlights for the Jaguars, who have lost two of three. He scored on runs of 80 and 79 yards to tie the game at 13-all in the third quarter.

Chargers 24, Raiders 16
LaDainian Tomlinson scored twice as San Diego (4-3) beat Oakland (2-6) for the 13th straight time. Philip Rivers had 249 yards and a touchdown for the Chargers, who pulled within two games of the AFC East lead. Justin Fargas had the lone touchdown for the Raiders, who scored all other points on field goals. Quarterback JaMarcus Russell was held without a touchdown for the second straight game, and finished with 109 yards on 14 of 22 passing.

Panthers 34, Cardinals 21
Jake Delhomme had a 50-yard touchdown pass in a 21-point second quarter for Carolina (3-4), which beat Arizona (4-3) on the road. Jonathan Stewart ran for two scores and DeAngelo Williams had 158 yards rushing against the Cardinals, who had been the league's top-ranked rush defense. Kurt Warner had two touchdowns and 242 yards passing, but also threw five interceptions.
