Pennington Continues To Learn Fins Playbook
DAVIE (CBS4) ―
The Dolphins continue preparations for their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars and the question that continues to be asked is how much action will Chad Pennington see?
Wednesday was Pennington's third day of practice with the team and he'll see playing time against the Jaguars but the head coach does not want to swamp the veteran quarterback with too much too early concerning the offensive playbook.
"I don't want to put him in a situation where it's too much right away, right now, or at the same time we ask him to do too much because he doesn't have that information yet", said head coach Tony Sparano.
Sparano says that Pennington has a "pretty good chunk "of the offense but to the former New York Jet it's like being a rookie all over again.
"
All I can control is to continue to speed my integration up and try to soak it all in, try to be a sponge", said Pennington.
Pennington most likely will start the season when the Dolphins host the Jets on September 7 and so far he's taken most of the snaps at practice as he continues to get comfortable with his new set of receivers.
" It doesn't happen overnight. Now that doesn't mean you can't go out there and be successful and win football games. You definitely can do that. And what you have to do is spend more time out there at practice", said the 32-year old quarterback.
