Dolphins & Congresswoman Team Up Against Cancer

MIAMI (CBS4) ― The Miami Dolphins and U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Wasserman-Schultz have teamed up to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The Dolphins will hold the team's Breast Cancer Awareness game this Sunday against the Bills at Land Shark Stadium.

Wasserman-Schultz, herself a breast cancer survivor joined Dolphins head coach Tony Sparano, his wife Jeanette, and Dolphins Chief Executive Officer Mike Dee at the team's facility to announce the specific initiatives the Dolphins will take part in. This Sunday, Congresswoman Wasserman-Schultz and wives of players and coaches, and other volunteers will pass out pink ribbons at the entry gates of Land Shark Stadium.

The Miami Dolphins Foundation will also make a presentation to the Susan G. Komen foundation to provide scholarships to students who lost a parent to breast cancer. Dolphins players will also wear pink cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline caps, helmet decals, captains patches or towels during the game.

Coaches and sideline workers will wear pink caps and pink ribbon pins, pink goal post padding will be featured in the end zone and the kicker balls (K-balls) will have pink ribbon decals. A special pink coin will be used for the coin toss as well.
