Report: Dolphins Interested In WR Josh Cribbs

MIAMI (CBS4) ― The season for the Cleveland Browns is pretty much over at this point in the season, but that doesn't mean some of their players don't have trade appeal. According to the Dayton Daily News, the Miami Dolphins are showing interest in trading for Browns receiver/returner Josh Cribbs.

The diminutive Cribbs is a Pro Bowl returner and also played quarterback in college. While the Dolphins interest appears to be as a kick return specialist, especially in light of losing kick returner Patrick Cobbs for the season, Cribbs might hold an appeal for the Wildcat formation as well.

The Browns lined Cribbs up at quarterback in a Wildcat type formation several times during the 2008 season. He doesn't have the arm or numbers of Dolphins backup Pat White, but could be an added weapon on the outside to further confuse defenses trying to stop the Wildcat.

Cribbs has been seeking a new contract from the Browns after he felt he outperformed the current deal. He will make between $720,000 and $890,000 over the remainder of the six-year deal he signed in 2006, according to the Dayton Daily News.
