Estefans To Buy Small Share Of Miami Dolphins
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
For the second time in as many months, the Miami Dolphins have announced a partnership with a major entertainer. The Estefan family will buy what's being deemed by the Associated Press as a "very small" ownership stake in the team. The new deal is set to be announced on Thursday by Dolphins owner Stephen Ross.
The involvement with the Emilio and Gloria Estefan follows Ross' recent deal with Jimmy Buffett that wound up with Dolphin Stadium being renamed, LandShark Stadium.
The Estefan family has been a fixture in the Hispanic community since breaking out with major hits in the 1980's. Emilio Estefan has produced for artists like Shakira and Ricky Martin. The Estefans will be some of only a handful of Hispanic owners of NFL teams.
