Questions Surround Parcells' Future In Miami
MIAMI (CBS4.com) ―
The worry among Dolphins fans surrounding the clause in team president Bill Parcells' was seemingly put to rest after owner Wayne Huizenga said Parcells was staying. But, Stephen M. Ross, who is about to complete a purchase of the team, may have something else in mind.
According to Adam Schefter of
NFL.com, multiple league sources believe that Ross will eventually hire former Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson to take control of the team.
CBS4 news partner the
Miami Herald backed up the report saying Peterson was seen "cozying up" to the incoming owner, even being seen on the sidelines with a Dolphins pin on his lapel.
Peterson and Ross have a previous working relationship dating back to the days of the USFL. Peterson was twice named USFL executive of the year while working for Ross. The USFL team Peterson ran finished with a record of 48-13-1.
Schefter reported that some within the Chiefs organization believed Ross would provide Peterson a job after resigning from his job in Kansas City.
Either way, only a year removed from the constant drama in Dallas, some level of uncertainty remains surrounding Bill Parcells and his future with the Dolphins.
