Dolphins QB Josh McCown Injures Throwing Hand

JACKSONVILLE, Tex. (CBS4.com) ― Miami Dolphins quarterback Josh McCown injured his throwing hand while working with his brother Luke. Josh was cutting firewood with his brother Luke, when Luke cut Josh's finger by mistake.

Josh, the possible starting quarterback for the Dolphins in 2008, needed six stitches to the index finger of his right hand.  He has 10 days to recover before training camp opens. His brother, Luke, is one of several quarterbacks on the roster with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The injury could open the door for either John Beck or rookie Chad Henne to make their case to be the Dolphins starting quarterback in 2008.

Josh McCown has started 31 games and thrown 35 touchdowns. He's played for the Cardinals, Raiders and Detroit Lions.
