The National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Suncoast chapter honored five CBS4 journalists and a retired broadcast professor from the University of Miami on May 4, 2008.

Most memorable story? Definitely when a crazy lady held me up at gunpoint on the air because she wanted to be on television. All turned out well. I talked to her for about 20 minutes until I could signal someone to call 9-1-1 and the SWAT team came in and talked her out of it
What did you win your Emmy for? I was covering the thousands of acres of brush fires in Orlando. I discovered there is something called 'muck-fires'... these fires actually travel underground and can pop up in other places. Now, where the fire is traveling the ground is extremely hot.
