Madonna & Guy Ritchie Have Been Married For 8 Years

MIAMI (CBS4) ― Fiona Shackelton might not be a name you and know but when it comes to big time divorce lawyers, she's known as the best. She's the woman who helped Sir Paul McCartney keep the bulk of his estate in his bitter divorce battle with ex-wife Heather Mills. Now, according to widespread reports, Madonna has hired Shackelton to handle her divorce from director Guy Ritchie, her husband of 8 years.

Madonna reportedly had talks with Shackleton back in April, however, the superstar hoped to resolve their differences then reportedly realized that their relationship is irreparable and she needed a proper legal consultation.

A friend of the singer told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper, "Madonna always seeks out the best in whatever field she is interested in at any given time. Fiona Shackleton is the best."

Lately, the star has been seen out without her wedding ring, which has fueled talk of a rift.

It's believed the couple did not have a pre-nuptial agreement which means that the starting point for any settlement would be a split of 50-50.

Madonna's spokespeople are not commenting on the divorce rumors.

Madonna, who is 49, and Guy, who is 39, have a 7-year-old son Rocco and a 2-year old adopted son David. Madonna also has a daughter, 11-year-old Lourdes, from a previous relationship.

Madonna's fortune is estimated at $325 million dollars.

Madonna's upcoming Sticky & Sweet tour comes to South Florida in November.
