Madonna Rep. Denies Divorce & A-Rod Rumors

A-Rod Reportedly Spotted Leaving's Madge's Manhattan Apartment

Madonna & Guy Ritchie Have Been Married For 8 Years

NEW YORK (CBS4) ― She played a baseball player in the movie "A League Of Their Own". He's the South Florida native who is a New York Yankee's star. Now, there are reports that Madonna may be enjoying a little late night batting practice with Alex Rodriguez.

US Magazine and the New York Daily News are reporting that A-Rod has been spotted leaving Madonna's Central Park West apartment a few times, while her husband was away. The tabloids claim Rodriguez has been sneaking out of the building, "as late as midnight." They did not report who their sources were and many are assuming it's the doormen.

Just last week, Britain's Times of London reported that Madonna was seeking legal counsel from Paul McCartney's high powered divorce attorney, Fiona Shackleton, to represent her in her impending divorce from filmmaking husband Guy Ritchie.

There was no comment on the divorce rumors from the Madonna camp until now.

The Material Mom's longtime spokesperson, Liz Rosenberg, released a statement to People magazine on Tuesday in which she said that the singer's marriage "does not need saving."

"Madonna's husband Guy arrived in New York last night to be with his wife and family (not in a last-ditch attempt to save his marriage, which does not need saving)," Rosenberg told People. "There are no plans for Madonna and Guy to divorce."

OK Magazine also noticed the budding friendship between the baseball star and Madge. He attended her concert back in April and she was at the Yankees game a little over a week ago.

Rosenberg says Madonna and A-Rod are just friends and explained the late night A-Rod sightings as simply, "Madonna and Alex have the same manager, Guy Oseary. They have met. They know each other, and Madonna took her kids to a Yankees game last week. There's really not anything to comment on beyond that."
