Luther Campbell Takes On Reality TV

Luke's Parental Advisory Airs On VH-1

DORAL (CBS4) ― Former 2 Live Crew frontman Luther Campbell, known for his outrageously foul lyrics, is giving reality TV a try and talked about his new VH1 reality show, "Luke's Parental Advisory", on The Jim and Jade Show.

The rapper, born and raised in Miami, gained huge fame when 2 Live Crew released their first album, "As Nasty as They Wanna Be." The first single, "Me So Horny" shot to the top of the Billboard charts even as it was banned from radio stations and stores.

Despite the ban, the album sold well over 2 million copies to the ire of many politicians. Luke's highly publicized obscenity trials gave birth to the "parental advisory" sticker and his 1994 Supreme Court parody/fair use case shed a new light on the First Amendment.

While he may have paved the way for freedom of lyrical expression by challenging America's justice system, Campbell is now getting a taste of his own medicine as he tries to protect his children from today's raunchy influences, just as parents tried to do with his music.

For the first time, this notorious bachelor, who recently wed, is settling down and trying to separate business and family life.
