NEW YORK (CBS4) ― Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon have reunited for the big screen version of their hit TV show 'Sex and the City' and New Line Cinema has released a brand new movie trailer to promote the film.

The four have reprised their roles, with longtime executive producer Michael Patrick King at the helm directing one of his own scripts.

An early trailer for the forthcoming movie, which is due for release in May 2008, reveals that the film-makers have stuck to the shows winning format.

The trailer begins with the familiar insightful narration from Carrie Bradshaw declaring that "nothing lasts forever, dreams change, trends come and go but friendships never go out of style,"

Fans of the show, based on autobiographical columns written by Candace Bushnell, have hoped for a movie version of "Sex and the City" since the series ended in 2004.

The newest trailer for the film follows the continuing adventures of the four main characters, Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda, as they live their lives in Manhattan four years after the series ended.

Actors Chris Noth, David Eigenberg, Evan Handler and Jason Lewis return as the women's love interests.

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson (Dreamgirls) has also joined the case of the film and will play Carrie Bradshaw's assistant, a new character to be introduced in the film.

"Sex and the City: The Movie" opens May 30th 2008.

The film is not yet rated.
