PLANTATION (CBS4) ― Every day, we report on stories of devastation, recession and loss. But also every day, there are wonderful things happening in our community. We want to take some time to share those stories. The news will be called "Good 4 You". We'll showcase some positive news like this story of a teenager doing good for her peers.

A 15-year-old girl started a drive at her school, American Heritage in Plantation, where people can donate the jeans they no longer want, but this teenager's mission is two-fold.

"You don't have to worry about trying to fit in to them. All you have to do is just fit into whatever fits you and that's good," said Maude Leclesc to CBS4's Jorge Estevez in the school's library.

The purpose is to send jeans to south Florida families in need and send a message to teenagers who may also be in need for a different reason. Eating disorders affect ten million people and while Leclesc, doesn't have one herself, she knows how hard it is to be comfortable with who you are.

Leclesc is 15-years-old and that's tough enough. She is thin, measuring 5 feet 10 inches tall.

"A lot of people say oh you are so tall. That is just how I am I can't change it," said Leclesc.

Her mom is proud of her daughter, and is also a board member for H.O.P.E., Helping Other People Eat, the group that is distributing the jeans her daughter collects.

"People are looking forward to getting our jeans; they are in high demand," said Louise Richer.

The fifteen year old actions are also in high demand, just ask her friends.

"I know so many people that have eating disorders and it's a horrible thing that they are going through and they need help," Nicole Fernandez, a student and friend to Leclesc.

Help is now available, thanks to a teenager who wants to help you feel comfortable in your jeans, both the denim kind and the genes we all carry inside.

And for that we say Good 4 You.
