Seven-year-old Brianna Curry got to be princess for a day. For her, everyday is a gift.
With a police escort and rock star treatment, Tuesday is the kind of day one South Florida girl will remember forever.
Seven-year-old Brianna Curry got to be princess for a day. For her, everyday is a gift. Brianna has a brain tumor.
"She been in remission for three and a half year, but we get an MRI every six months", Brianna's mother Dawn told
CBS4's Gwen Belton.
Brianna's dream has been to meet rock star and outdoorsman Ted Nugent. She says she likes his music and her favorite song is "Spirit of the Wild." Her parents say she has been a fan since she was a baby.
They say Brianna got hooked on his "Spirit of the Wild" show on the Outdoors channel and his music because dad is a big fan. "I think it's good, she's getting into hunting" says dad Kenny.
Tuesday, Brianna got her wish through the Make a Wish Foundation. She and her family flew to meet Nugent in Texas.
"You would Think Cinderella, but she has Ted Nugent on her mind. That's the beauty of Make a Wish. We never know what these children are going to wish for or imagine or dream" says make a Wish representative Richard Kelly.
It was wish filled with lots of pink, princesses, cake and balloons. With the help of the Fort Lauderdale Hollywood International Airport, TSA, American Airlines and the Broward County Sheriff's Department, Brianna got a grand send-off to meet her idol.
Airport executives say this is the first time they've done anything like this. They got the call a week ago from Make-a-Wish and didn't hesitate when asked.
It was a wish granted for a little girl of few words, but with a big dream and a big heart, who will cherish this day for always.
