The family of the man critically injured in a car crash with Hulk Hogan's son has slammed the wrestler and members of his family for being insensitive.
John Graziano's family has called Hogan and his son Nick "two-faced" after listening to taped jailhouse conversations. In one conversation, the former wrestler can be heard saying that Graziano's coma may be "karma."
In a written statement to the media, Graziano's family said "these tapes clearly show that what the Bolleas said in court was calculated to give the Court the impression that Nick deserved a break."
The statement refers to a jail house phone call between Nick and his father that was made public last week:
Hulk Hogan: "Well I don't know what type of person John was. Or what he did to get himself in this situation. I know he was pretty aggressive and yelled at people and did stuff. And for some reason God laid some heavy sh-t on that kid. I don't know what he was into."
Nick Bollea: "He was a negative person." Hulk: "He was what?" Nick: "He was a negative person. Will you work on that 'reality' deal?"
Hulk: "Yep" Nick: "Get that lined up so the minute I walk out, whenever I walk out of here it's there, boom." Hulk: "Can you do it while you're on probation." Nick: "Of course." Hulk: "Do you want to do it with Pink Sneakers or someone else." Nick: "I want to do it where I'll make the most money." Graziano's mother, Debbie, said she was shocked when she heard the contents of the call.
"If Terry Bollea cared about John Graziano, he wouldn't be blaming his semi-conscious state and his life long battle to survive as bad karma. If Nick Bollea cared about John Graziano he wouldn't be describing him as a negative person. These people are the biggest phonies and two-faced individuals that I've ever seen," said Debbie Graziano.
Graziano's father, Ed, said what shocked him the most was how cold Nick and Hulk were in describing his son's condition.
"How can these people think of making money as my son lays in bed fighting for his life," said Ed Graziano.
Bollea's attorney, Kevin Hayslett, said he's looking into the release of the phone calls which he called 'unprecedented'. He said he plans to find out if the jailhouse phone calls between a parent and a juvenile are considered a public record or a confidential conversation.
