Keeping Your Locks And Your Tan Lovely
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Everyone loves to have as much fun in the sun as possible. But the extra heat and humidity can generate endless bad hair days for everyone. But never fear, there are ways to keep your locks looking lovely and keep your perfect tan.
At the Scott Alan Hair Studio in Aventura, they use products from Aveda that help not only your hair but also the rest of your body.
"It's designed to use on your hair," said Scott Alan of the Scott Alan Hair Studio. "It takes out product buildup, it's a body wash and you can wash your bathing suit with it."
And during the summer, the old saying of less is more can be achieved naturally or with a curling iron. "You close clamp twist and gently drag it across the hair. Count to three, open and let it fall. It's a naturally tossed wave," Alan said.
You can also braid your bangs for Jennifer Anniston's Oscar look, or create an easy updoo by separating long hair into four pieces, putting the top piece in a soft bun and braiding the remaining 3 pieces for a beach bun.
If you're looking for an 80's retro pony, use a crimper to create a textured look and then wrap a long braid around the pony tail to neaten the look.
So remember, when it comes to summer style, practice safe sun. Braids are big, and less is more for a sizzling summer look.
