High School Kids Get An "Early Start" On College

Nicole Maristany
MIAMI (CBS4) ― AAA is a full-time dual enrollment program based at FIU. Students are registered for college courses in the morning and take advanced level high school courses in the afternoon. The program currently has 88 students from five high schools: Varela, Ferguson, Reagan, Coral Park and Braddock.

Student selection is based on GPA and test scores. Students are both MDCPS and FIU students and can participate in activities through FIU, AAA and their home school.

Students generally take freshman and sophomore level courses. Students in our program are 11th and 12th graders.
