Cold Stone Teams With "Neighbors" To Help Needy
A Portion Of Cold Stone Creamery Sales Benefit Neighbors 4 Neighbors
DORAL (CBS4) ―
It's summer, it's hot and there's no better time for everyone to scream for ice cream and at the same time, help South Florida residents in need.
On Wednesday all Cold Stone Creamery stores in Miami-Dade and Broward are participating in a project that benefits the Neighbors 4 Neighbors Family Fund.
"You know we all want to be good neighbors and we look at ourselves as a neighborhood ice cream store," said Ralph Lopez who owns a Cold Stone Creamery in Miramar. "You know it's a good opportunity here and we hope people will come in here and have a little fun."
All you need to do is buy yummy treats for yourself, family, friends, or co-workers and 20 percent of the sale will go to Neighbors 4 Neighbors which helps South Florida families facing crisis.
"This is so important because it's a great way for anyone to go to their local neighborhood ice cream store and make a huge difference," said Neighbors' Nicole Maristany. "A lot of times we get calls from people who say they want to help, but they don't know how. Here is a great way, a fun way and you can make a big difference to families in need."
Maristany says working with Cold Stone Creamery is a great way to raise money at a time when donations are down.
"We've taken a huge dip in terms of donations this year as many local non-profits have," said Maristany. "This is a great way to help supplement our funding and continue to help give back to South Florida families in need."
Customers can also register to win a year of free ice cream.
Through August 31st, our friends at Cold Stone are also offering Neighbors 4 Neighbors supporters a coupon that will get you 2 cups of ice cream with one mix in each for only $5.00.
Simply
