Mr. Food - Talkin' Turkey to the Hotlines

MIAMI (CBS4) ―

If you're hosting a classic Thanksgiving feast, make sure you plan ahead!

Make a list of all the dishes you want to include in your menu.

Be sure to include all your ingredients for each item on your menu, such as the turkey, cranberry sauce, fixings for dressing and stuffing, and even store-bought pies to save you time.

Once your turkey is cooked, get creative and garnish it! Try using a bit more of the recipe's ingredients, like fresh sage leaves and parsley. Or use foods in colors that contrast the turkey, like apple slices, orange wedges, or grapes.

What happens if you get crunched for time? No need to panic! Try some of these options:

Purchase a fully cooked whole turkey. It will be ready in a fraction of the traditional time. Pair it with canned or frozen vegetables and desserts from the supermarket bakery.

Need stuffing fast? There are turkeys you can purchase that are already stuffed with a traditional bread stuffing! (Talk about convenience!)

Want a faster cooking method? Try a more non-traditional approach to cooking a turkey by using a turkey smoker. Your bird can be ready in
under 2 hours!

Whatever your needs may be for the upcoming holiday, you're not alone. There are great sites online with helpful hints and creative ideas, and your supermarket is a great source for last-minute buys. With a little help, and a lot of turkey, you can make this Thanksgiving...
