Inmates Bottling The Heat For Cash

TAMPA (CBS4) ― Some enterprising inmates at the Hillsborough County Jail are cashing in on the heat.

Using jail grown peppers, they're producing a line of "Jailhouse Fire Hot Sauce." They came up with the recipe in 2005 and sell three different flavors; Original, Smoke and No Escape. Each bottle goes for seven dollars.

In the last four years horticulture instructor Allen Boatman estimates they've made more than $10 thousand. All proceeds go to keep up the greenhouse and buy basic supplies.
