Gas Prices Edge Up In The Last Week

Miami-Dade Averaging $2.49/Gallon Unleaded

Broward Averaging $2.47/Gallon Unleaded

ORLANDO (CBS4) ― For the first time since the beginning of August, drivers are paying a bit more to fill up their gas tanks.

In the last week, the price for regular unleaded has increase approximately 3 cents in Florida to an average of $2.43 a gallon. That is still lower than the national average of $2.48 for a gallon of regular unleaded.

In Miami Dade drivers are paying a bit more than the state average. Unleaded regular is averaging $2.49 a gallon; up from $2.45 a week ago but a lot lower than the $3.47 it was averaging last year at this time. In Broward drivers are paying about $2.47 for a gallon of regular unleaded compared to about $2.44 a week ago. A year ago, Broward drivers were paying $3.43 for a gallon of unleaded regular.

The most expensive area in the state to fill up is West Palm Beach were regular unleaded is averaging $2.53 a gallon. The Jacksonville and Tampa metro areas have the cheapest prices in the state, unleaded regular is averaging $2.37 a gallon.
