Joseph is just 26 years old but feels older because of his weight, tipping the scales at almost 500 pounds. He says he's tired all the time, and has tried losing weight on his own without success. With a son on the way, he wants help to be in better shape for his son, so he can be a better dad. He says he tired of being big.

Karen is a single mom who cares for a 13-year-old disabled son. She has devoted most of her time to his care, sometimes forgetting about her own needs, including health and fitness. Now, as her son becomes more independent she's ready to tackle those issues, but she needed a little help.

Terrell was selected Manager of the Year, but says his weight has blocked people from seeing his worth. Both his father and grandfather are diabetics, and he sees that in his future. He says he has the heart to succeed, but needs the help he will get by taking part in this challenge. His goal: Self confidence.

She has helped hundreds of clients, including many celebrities, improve their physical fitness A native of Miami, she is a frequent contributor to radio, TV and newspapers A certified weight loss counselor for Physicians Weight Loss Centers, Genette heads the company's facility in Pinecrest. She will be providing nutritional assistance and guidance for all of the contestants.

Here's how the challenge works.

The three challengers, selected from almost 200 entrants, have agreed to a 3 month program of diet and exercise supervised by experts from Bally Total Fitness and Physicians Weight Loss Center. Each has been given a Bally Total Fitness 3 Month membership with a minimum of 26 sessions with a personal trainer, Weight loss guidance by Physicians Weight Loss Center experts, and 120 in Gift Cards to Subway Restaurants to help them meet their goal.

We will follow their progress with weekly weigh-ins and report it on cbs4.com and each Wednesday on CBS4 News This Morning

That's just the beginning.

The person with the greatest weight loss will win 3 days/2 nights at Wyndham Resorts Nassau for two, a $500 gift certificate from Montica Jewelers, a $500 gift certificate from The Promenade at Coconut Creek, and a Bally Total Fitness (1) year membership to all "Bally Total Fitness" brand health clubs in the U.S.

The second place winner will receive a $300 gift certificate from Montica Jewelers and a Bally Total Fitness (6) Month, non-renewable, nationwide access membershipto all "Bally Total Fitness" brand health clubs in the U.S.

This past summer, CBS4 held the Subway Get Fit Challenge. During the intense three month contest, the winner TJ Brooks lost 72 pounds and he is still going strong. In the two months since the contest has ended, TJ has lost another 32 pounds and already has new goals in mind.
