93-Year Old Golfer Hits 9th Hole-In-One
Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank Ortis Also Hit His First Ace
The Two Are Good Friends & Golfing Buddies
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
At age 93, "The Hole-in-One Man" Tony Tarinelli has made his ninth hole-in-one at his favorite golf course, the Pembroke Lakes Golf and Country Club. He plays several times a week, and started when he was just ten years old. This incredible golfer spoke to CBS4's Jim Berry on
The Jim and Jade show on Wednesday morning.
While on the course Tuesday with his friend and golfing buddy, Pembroke Pines Mayor Frank Ortis, the mayor also managed to hit his first ace. That's two hole-in-ones on the same day by two different players..
"I was supposed to be the star and he stole the show," Tarinelli told Jim Berry.
Mayor Ortis replied, "Luckily, I just had a great day at hole number 4, I just had a great swing, two bounces and it was a hole-in-a-one, my first hole-in-one. With all of that, this 93-year old and I were even for the day, even with my ace, so that tells you what kind of phenomenal golfer this Tony Tarinelli is."
Ortis said he considers his golfing buddy, "an inspiration to all senior citizens."
Tarinelli says golf has kept him young and he never gets tired of it. He used to play 4 times a week but now plays twice a week and hopes to return to 3 times a week.
