A Tennessee boy was fighting for his life Monday after being rescued from a burning SUV.
The vehicle he and his mother and sister were riding in rolled over and burst into flames. The 4-year-old was trapped inside, while his mother and sister managed to escape.
The family, from Tennessee, was traveling through Milwaukee's south side Sunday afternoon when it crashed, according to the
Milwaukee Journal.
Bystanders fought the flames and smashed the windshield to pull the boy out of the SUV. Two off-duty firefighters, John and Joel Rechlitz, were also on the scene and suffered second and third degree burns on their hands and arms while fighting to remove the boy from the flames.
The frantic rescue was
caught on tape.
The boy suffered severe burns but is expected to survive.
