EcoZone: Go Green & Opt Out Of Phone Book Delivery

MIAMI (CBS4) ― If you're looking for another way to go green and help the environment, why not opt out of receiving a phone book.

Many people get the yellow pages every year, put them away in a cabinet and never use them. To help reduce all that waste, there's a website that will stop the delivery of the phone book to your home.

It's called yellowpagesgoesgreen.org. All you have to do is register your name, address and e-mail and it doesn't cost a thing.

According to their website, 540 million phone books are delivered every year nationwide, which is equal to 1.6 billion pounds of paper. It's also estimated that less than 10-percent of phone books ever get recycled.
