Green Lodging Award Goes to Sonesta In The Grove

COCONUT GROVE (CBS4) ― Florida's Green Lodging Program is designated for hotels, motels, resorts or bed & breakfast locations that implement programs and practices aimed at protecting and conserving Florida's natural resources and the environment, which was what was awarded to the Sonesta Bayfront Hotel in Coconut Grove on Wednesday.

Such a designated hotel reduces water use, conserves energy and decreases its solid waste, three steps all considered a priority in winning recognition from the state's department of environmental protection.

The award was established in 2004.
