In the past two weeks, we've focused on Karen Jones and Joseph Grooms. This week our focus is on TJ Brooks from Miami.
"Some weeks are better than others," said Brooks.
The 31-year-old entered the challege after a near death experience. He was stranded at sea, left bobbing in the water for 18 hours until help arrived. He said his friend could climb up on the top of the boat but he couldn't because of his size.
Now he's hitting the gym hard, working out 2 to 3 hours a day. TJ, who is unemployed, feels his job now is to get in shape which will help him land a real job down the road.
"Someone who is obese or overweight generally they look at us like we can't perform the job functions necessary," T.J. said.
"He's been a dream to work with. No matter how difficult it may seem, he'll do it. He's probably exceeded my expectations actually," TJ's Bally trainer Jason Goodrich.
TJ has another huge helper, his roommate Omar Majias, who is working out with him and following the diet too.
"He's helping me out as well cause I lost ten pounds helping him," said Majias.
So far Omar, who's not in the contest, has lost 10 pounds. How about our other contestants?
The results this week shape up like this:
Karen Jones lost one pound this week. Her weight is 267. She's lost a total of 4 pounds.
Joseph Grooms lost nothing this week. His weight is 467.5 pounds. His total weight loss is 10.5 pounds.
TJ Brooks lost 5 pounds this week. His weight is 370.5. His total weight loss is 24.5 pounds.
Add to that, TJ's lost 55 inches in his chest, waist, arms, calves etc. Karen's lost 26 inches and Joseph's lost 36 inches. The trainers say the inches lost are more important than the weight loss.
The contestants have two months to go.
