Subway Get Fit Challenge Names A Winner
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
After an intense three months, a Subway Get Fit Challenge winner has been declared. With a weight loss of 73 pounds, TJ Brooks took home first place.
"It's been a great journey," said Brooks.
TJ started out at 395 pounds and ended his journey at 322 pounds in three months. He said it was emotional to say the least, "It was painful, I worked hard."
He went from a 65 pant size to a 52 inch pant size and from a size 6x shirt to a 3x. On the 12 areas of his body that the Physician's weight loss group measured every month, he has lost 81.25 inches.
For his effort, TJ won a three day two night stay at the Wyndham Resorts Nassau for two, a $500 gift certificate to Montica Jewelers and a $500 gift certificate to the Promenade at Coconut Creek.
"With these new clothes, I'm gonna look sexy," said Brooks.
He also gets a one year membership to Bally's Total Fitness where he will continue to work with his trainer.
Joseph Brooms came in second place with 45.5 pounds lost and Karen Brown in third with 15 pounds lost.
All of the contestants said this challenge was just the beginning. Brooks hopes to lose another 73 pounds by the end of November, in time for his birthday.
"This has changed my life, I just want to thank everyone," said Brooks.
CBS4 will continue to follow TJ through November.
