Diet Help To Prevent Colorectal Cancer

MIAMI (CBS4) ― The idea of eating a colon friendly diet may not be the most delicious thing you have heard, but doing it may add years to your life. And it's easy to make avoid the unhealthy foods and protect your colon.

"The food that we eat, especially what we should be eating, is better than it's ever been in the history of man," Mr. Food says.

Fruits, vegetables, and whole grain cereals all provide fiber, and if you're looking for a treat follow the lead of baseball players and go for sunflower seeds."It's a great snack, it's great on anything you want to add it to, your salads, your baked goods whatever," Mr. Food said.

And for added benefit, when choosing a vegetable, you should go green. Green vegetables often have a chemical called sulurophane, which is a chemical known to ward off colorectal cancer. And if the idea of having broccoli by itself doesn't sound appealing, add some cheese on top to help with your calcium levels.

If you take care of your diet correctly, you will be like Mr. Food when your body says, "Oooo it's so good."
