Miami Heat Announce 2009-2010 Schedule

MIAMI (CBS4) ― The Miami Heat released its 2009-2010 regular season schedule on Tuesday. The 82 game schedule kicks off on October 28, 2009 when the Heat host the perennially rebuilding New York Knicks. It's the 16th time the Heat has opened their regular season in the friendly confines of Miami.

The schedule has multiple games that will likely draw large crowds to the AmericanAirilines Arena. On March 4, 2010, the NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers roll into Miami. The Lakers will again be powered by one of the best players in the league, Kobe Bryant. The Lakers also have forward Lamar Odom on the roster after he flirted with signing with the Heat during the off-season.

On November 12, 2009 and January 25, 2010, the Miami Heat will welcome what some experts say could be a serious contender for the 2010 NBA Championship, the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Cavs obviously feature superstar LeBron James, but also picked up a large free agent acquisition in the off-season, Shaquille O'Neal. While O'Neal may not be the player he was a few years ago when he helped lead the Heat to an NBA Championship, the combination of James and O'Neal could be quite formidable.

And if you're looking to catch a glimpse of the triumvirate of Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Ray Allen of the Boston Celtics, circle November 26 and January 6 when the Heat will welcome the Celtics into the AmericanAirlines Arena.

Finally, if you want to catch a glimpse of the 2009 overall number one pick in the NBA Draft, make plans to head to the AmericanAirlines Arena on March 10, when Blake Griffin and the Los Angeles Clippers come to face the Heat.

The Heat is offering some new options to bring fans into the AmericanAirlines Arena. The team created the "All You Can Heat" partial season ticket plan which allows fans to create their own season ticket plan from a list of "Hot," "Hotter," and "Hottest" Heat games.

The team will also sell Heat Experiences with partial season ticket packages. The Experiences include Post-Game Free Throw shooting, the high-five Fan Tunnel, and taking a post-game photo at center-court.
