Beasley In Town, To Work Out For Heat
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
Former Kansas State forward Michael Beasley, considered one of the top two players in this year's NBA Draft, will be in Miami Wednesday to work out for the Heat. The Heat holds the number two overall pick in this year's draft.
Beasley concluded a two day visit in Chicago on Tuesday; the Bulls hold the number one pick in the draft.
" "I think I can make a good inside presence. I can be a great rebounder. I can take pressure off the guards and hit open shots, be an inside-out guy," said the 6 feet 7 inch forward.
Memphis point guard Derrick Rose, the other potential number one pick, will visit with the Bulls Wednesday and Thursday. Rose worked out for the Heat in Los Angeles and plans are to have him fly to Miami for a second meeting.
Beasley played one year at Kansas State where he averaged 26.5 points and 12.5 rebounds. The underclassmen declared for the 2008 NBA Draft on April 14.
In other Heat news, the agent for Dwyane Wade said that the superstar guard has not been offered a roster spot on the U.S. Olympic team.
