Heat Will Retire Tim Hardaway's Jersey
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
The Miami Heat has announced they will retire former point guard Tim Hardaway's number 10 jersey during an October 28 ceremony. The ceremony will be immediately prior to the Heat's home opener against the New York Knicks.
Hardaway's jersey will only the second jersey retired in Heat history, joining Alonzo Mourning's number 33 that went into the rafters last season. Heat president Pat Riley said Hardaway is part of the "taproot and foundation for what we hope to be a long tradition of success here in Miami."
Hardaway spent almost six full seasons with the Miami Heat and 13 seasons overall in the NBA. Hardaway was selected to the All-Star game five different times and averaged 17.7 points and 8.2 assists per game for his career.
