Bears Want To Be The "Treat" For Halloween

SOUTH MIAMI (CBS4) ― From Goldilocks to little pumpkins carried in their mothers' arms, Halloween just got a little sweeter for children trick-or-treating in South Miami's streets.

An adopt-a-bear lair was set up to adopt teddy bears that are all dressed up and ready to be given away to neglected and abused children that go through our family courts system.

Candies, treats and even some tricks were given out, while children and their parents took the time to adopt some teddy bears all dressed up for the occasion.

"I think it's such a great cause what you're doing, and to know that's a way of comforting a child in a time of need, I think it's a good cause," said one mother who brought her child to the adoption event.

And Judge Cindy Lederman, who spearheads the effort, was on hand helping out to get the furry creatures adopted on this night of ghouls and goblins.
