Family Says Mom Has "Unending Love"

Semi-Finalist #1 In CBS4 "Love Your Mom" Contest

DORAL (CBS4) ― Mother's Day is just around the corner and we've selected four semi-finalists in our "How Much Do You Love Mom" Contest. We received dozens of entries and it was hard to narrow it down to 4 semi-finalists. There are a lot of special moms in South Florida and one of them is going to win a great spa package prize.

A very loving husband sent in this Mother's Day contest entry, the first of our four semi-finalists.

Bill Walke said his wife, Jennifer Walke, does so much for everyone, including her in-laws who she decided should live with them so they would be properly cared for in their old age.

CBS4's Jade Alexander found out this mom could definitely use a little time to herself.

"My wife has unending love and takes care not only of my parents who have been living here with us for the last 4 years she does anything for anybody, church-wise, and nothing for herself," said Bill Walke.

Walke wants the world to know what a wonderful woman, mother, wife, daughter-in-law and human being Jennifer is.

She takes care of him, their 16 year-old daughter, the house, the dog, works full-time out of her small office in the backyard, organizes church functions and collects letters from across the state to send to our troops in the Middle East.

She's also a caretaker for her aging in-laws who she had move in with them so they'd be near family.

"At least they're here and we can keep an eye on them. We know they're taking their medication. We know they're being cared for. We take them to church with us so they can see their friends," said Jennifer Walke.

Jennifer's in-law's told Jade Alexander that they know they have a very special daughter-in law and son.
They realize how good they have it.

Millie and Gene turn 80 this year and the always giving Jennifer gave them a major bash and created a beautiful collage of old and new pictures as a gift.

"When's the last time you did something for you," asked Alexander. "I don't know," said Jennifer. Jade said "You took a shower this morning." "Yes I did, when I heard you were coming, said Jennifer.

Bill wants nothing more than to see his wife take a break, like a day at the spa, and has even offered to take over the duties.

"You can have it in writing. You can have it in blood. Only problem I have is when the spa asks you to leave, when they say it's time for you to go home and I'm like let me stay one more day, one more day," laughed Jennifer.
