Children's Trust Miami Heart Gallery - Dakota
MIAMI (CBS4) ―
As part of
CBS4's series on some very special children hoping to be adopted -
Shannon Hori would like you to meet 14-year-old Dakota who is in our Children's Trust Miami Heart Gallery.
Tall and lanky, Dakota may be big for his age but he's still a kid who misses his mom.
"I miss my mom going in the kitchen, fixing me an egg sandwich," said Dakota, "I miss my mom fixing me pork chops and rice with gravy. I miss all that."
Dakota said he would love to be adopted by a family who takes care of him.
When not in school, Dakota, who is very artistic, said he loves to draw and he especially loves to dance.
"If a song comes on I like, I have to dance," admitted Dakota.
Recently, the professional dance group "Live In Color" gave Dakota a hip hop dance lesson. Dakota said he's loved to dance since he was a little boy.
"When I'm dancing I feel happy and all that," said Dakota who admitted that spending the afternoon with the dance group made him feel really special.
