Children's Trust Heart Gallery - Marvin & Tevin

Brothers Marvin & Tevin Are Looking For Loving Parents

Just Dial 211 On Your Phone To Contact The Children's Trust Hotline

MIAMI (CBS4) ― As part of CBS4's series on some very special children hoping to be adopted - Shannon Hori would like you to meet a very special set of brothers – 16-year old Marvin and 13-year old Tevin – who are in our Children's Trust Miami Heart Gallery.

Big brother Marvin and little brother Tevin both live in foster care; unfortunately they live in two different foster homes.

They go to the same school, but they aren't able to hang out together very often.  On a recent trip to the Dolphin Mall with CBS4's Shannon Hori the brothers got to spend hours together playing video games at Dave and Buster's which they said was a real treat. Marvin and Tevin even took Shannon along for the ride - in a NASCAR race game, that is.

Both boys love video games, football and basketball.  But they're also different in some ways.  Marvin is quiet, and according to him "Tevin likes to talk a lot."

Some of their tastes differ, too.  Marvin ordered spinach dip, but Tevin wasn't quite ready to try it.

Marvin says he thinks about being adopted a lot, and says the only thing he wants is for his new family to be "really nice."  Tevin, who has a huge smile that can light up a room, says someone once told him he looks like a superstar and that memory makes him smile even more.

While Marvin and Tevin agree that their day at Dave and Buster's was something special, playing video games was great fun, they say being together was even more important.  They hope someday to be together permanently in a family of their own.

Parents in Miami Dade interested in adopting Marvin and Tevin or any other child from The Children's Trust Miami Heart Gallery can call The Children's Trust Helpline at 211 where specially trained Switchboard of Miami counselors are standing by, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in English, Spanish and Creole. In Broward, call (305) 631-4211.
